The arrival of Bishop Michael Smolinski, C.Ss.R to the Eparchy of Saskatoon has opened a new chapter in the history of the Shrine at Cudworth.
It was announced shortly after his arrival in 2024 that there would be a monastery established on the site for the monks of the Hermitage of the Three Holy Hierarchs, a religious community dedication to prayer, study, preaching, and teaching.
The monks will live on site and welcome pilgrims. A proposed Chapel and Bell Tower were unveiled in 2024 with more details to come.
In 2024, representatives of the Shrine also met with His Beatitude, Patriarch Sviatoslav and presented him with a copy of the compiled stories.
The Shrine of Our Lady of Sorrows is well positioned to move into the future thanks to the hard work of all those who have come before us. We are well positioned because we have committed new generations and because we have the support of our bishop, Michael Smolenski, C.Ss.R, and of our monks.
Please consider supporting our work so that the Shrine of Our Lady of Sorrows can continue to a site of blessing for years to come!
